Camden Town

Camden Town

Often having its name shortened to just Camden, this section of London owes its wealth and popularity to the industrial revolution. Its central location provided Camden residents with excellent employment opportunities as the North Western Railway's terminal stop was the stop where products were moved from trains to waiting transports.

It was a win-win situation for Camden and ever since then, the area has played a vital role in the life of London. Of course, the area had to overcome its reputation of being an unfashionable city.

The 21st century has certainly done that with its higher-than-average real estate prices.

Food And Fun

These two items helped Camden become a popular and fashionable area to visit. The Inverness street market has for over 100 years served up some great British delicacies. It started the trend for other markets to find open spots and gather different vendors to sell their food items.

But that is not all, the popularity of these markets brought in entertainment businesses that helped the economy thrive. With their arrival came more chain restaurants that have located themselves near those original food fare markets and helped Camden overcome its unfashionable reputation.

The presence of three tube stations has only enhanced the popularity of Camden and made it easier to visit those markets and shops.

Camden Real Estate Values

The unfashionable reputation did not stop Camden developers from constructing some very elegant buildings. Their interiors are as stunning as their exteriors. Those designs make those homes and apartments very valuable.

Few properties are selling for more than £4,650,000 in Camden. There are some more that are close to that asking price and their buildings certainly warrant that high figure.

The good news in this real estate market is that you can still get some nice homes and apartments for under £300,000. These quaint residences do come with some modern designs but you can still get the old architecture if you want to.

Even the mid-range apartments look like they could be worth millions of British Pounds. This is not an unfashionable location to live in anymore. You have access to other parts of London so if you can’t find it here, just board a train at one of the tube stations and go to another section of the city.

Travel is not difficult nor is getting home again. This is a great area to live in and with all those entertainment companies and markets, you won’t be bored.

The Attractions Add To The Value

When you look through Camden you will find Catacombs (underground stables), the roundhouse, several historic churches, as well as The Royal Veterinary College to name a few of the many attractions in this region.

Each one has a role in history and their presence helps keep property values steady. Charles Dickens had a second home in Camden so this really was not as unfashionable as people may have thought.

For your next home, Camden Town is worth considering.
