About Knightsbridge

Knightsbridge is one of London's most exclusive neighbourhoods, between Hyde Park, Belgravia, Chelsea and South Kensington. It is famous for Harrods and Harvey Nichols, its garden squares and some of the most expensive homes in the country. It is mostly in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, with its eastern part in the City of Westminster.

Living in Knightsbridge

Brompton Road and Sloane Street are lined with fashion houses, restaurants and hotels. Behind them are quiet garden squares such as Montpelier Square, Trevor Square and Cadogan Square, with stucco townhouses, mansion flats and new developments. Hyde Park is on the doorstep, and the museums of South Kensington are a short walk away.

Getting around

Knightsbridge station on the Piccadilly line runs direct to the West End and Heathrow. Hyde Park Corner and South Kensington are nearby, and Victoria and Paddington are a short taxi ride away.

Cost of living in Knightsbridge

Knightsbridge is among the most expensive places to buy or rent in the UK. Many homes come with porterage, security and parking, and properties are often sold privately.

Knightsbridge spans SW1X (around Sloane Street and Belgravia), SW3 (Brompton Road towards Chelsea) and SW7 (towards South Kensington).

House prices in Knightsbridge

Across the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, the average price paid for a home was about £1.2 million. Flats and maisonettes averaged about £948,000, and terraced houses about £2.39 million. Knightsbridge homes, especially houses on the garden squares, sit well above these borough-wide averages.
