Do I need a survey when buying a home?

It is not required by law, but it is strongly advised. A survey can find problems that a lender's valuation does not look for.

What is conveyancing?

Conveyancing is the legal work of transferring ownership, done by a solicitor or licensed conveyancer: searches, contracts and registering the new owner.

Can I buy property in London if I live abroad?

Yes. There is no restriction on overseas buyers, but you will need proof of funds, and mortgage options and stamp duty can differ.
